Thank you as always Kerrí. Writing this sipping lemon balm on my break (I work as a gardener). You've hit so many nails on the head. Marc Hamers words also really resonated with me. I must check him out. Rain by end of the week in West Cork...we hope!!!!
So much to think about in this beautiful post, Kerri. ‘Motherhood drew me back to the earth’. Yes, yes. I’m v much looking forward to reading your book when it arrives. 💚🧡
Such a beautiful post, Kerrí. I teared up at the line, "To remember that I love this earth and she loves me and we matter and belong; each to the other" - it felt like the embrace I never knew I needed (except maybe somewhere, deep down, I did).
Thank you for walking your path with so much integrity, so much respect and attentiveness - and so, too, that we might see. Been quietly following you, dropping in here and there, but I'm so very glad to read this full post because you took my breath away.
I so feel this unraveling of a lifetime to begin fresh with a new one, and you've given me lots to think about in my engagement with the earth. Grateful, too, for this small moment back in Ireland, a land I've come to cherish. So much I love <3 Looking forward to reading more from you (hopefully even your book!) soon. Blessings, Kerri.
Sitting here in cold and rainy Western Australia I loved reading your words and being reminded of summer. I’m an artist and explore the connection between nature and women. Your words really resonated with me. Thank you for the recommendations of books I shall look forward to reading them.
I really loved Seed To Dust, such a lovely book. I’ll be noting a lot of the other books you have mentioned here too as well as your book so I can read them all. I’m especially interested in the connection between motherhood and garden at the moment.
"motherhood drew me back to the earth." Those words resonated so strongly with me. My son is now eleven, but from his time of birth until the beginning of this year, we lived in the countryside. It was an isolating time in my life, but one that I am ultimately grateful for. I loved that land and learned every nook and cranny of it. Now, I am slowly growing community, living at the edge of town, surrounded by woodland and gorges. The best of both worlds, perhaps.
Hello from Galway 👋 just found you through Katherine May and have added your book to my ever growing list! I struggled through the muddy waters of PPD as well, ten years ago, and also turned to gardening for healing. Watching our now 10 year olds picking sugar snap peas from the small veg patch is a great reminder of how far we have come
Finding a place that gives you solace and protection for your family is treasure indeed. Thanks for sharing your view of the world from your garden, and for sharing your struggles and successes, and your unique perspective on what it means to be a mother.
