This week I had the absolute joy of leading my first session of a course I’ve been planning for quite some time; since long before I even imagined I would be able, or even would wish to, give birth.
I ran it as part of MORNING SONGS— with the wonderful Genevieve Beech in collaboration with Bloom & Curll Press—at The Bristol Mutter in my beloved Bristol.
The course, which I will teach again and I hope will shapeshift over and over again, is called—
MARK-MAKING CARE-TAKING: on ritual, reconnection and the recording of motherhood.
I haven’t stepped towards this part of my path without giving lots of thought to how to do this work tenderly and with nothing but love for every one of us who struggle with the word (m)other.
